State Police are investigating what they call a traffic stop under "suspicious circumstances."
Troopers received a complaint from a 21-year-old woman. According to investigators, the woman told them she was pulled over Route 98 north of the village of Arcade by someone driving a navy blue sedan with blue lights in the windshield and some sort of police insignia on the driver's door.
Troopers say the person driving that sedan is a male between the ages of 30 and 40 with blond hair and a medium build and about 6 feet tall. Troopers add the person was wearing a blue uniform with no insignia, a belt with a gold shield, a baton and did not have a holster or gun. Anyone with information is asked to call state police in Batavia at (585) 786-2299 or Clarence (716) 759-6831.
If you feel you're being stopped by someone other than a law enforcement officer, police advise you to call 911 or drive to the nearest police station.
