Spencerport man suffers serious injuries in snowmobile accident in Kendall

A Spencerport man suffered serious injuries after he was ejected from his snowmobile.
The incident happened just before 2:30 p.m. in an area north of Roosevelt Highway(State Route 18) and east of Kendall Road (State Route 237).
The Orleans County Sheriff's Office says John P. Battista, 35, of Spencerport and Frederick A. Kirkpatrick, 46, of Rochester, were operating separate sleds and headed toward the snowmobile trail when Battista's machine ran into a drainage ditch. Sheriff's Deputies say Battista, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected and thrown head first into Kirkpatrick's snowmobile.
Battista was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with a serious head injury. Kirkpatrick was not injured.
