Maggie Brooks appoints county's first female attorney

County Executive Maggie Brooks announced the appointment of Merideth Smith to the position of Monroe County Attorney.

Smith, who has served as a Deputy County Attorney for the past 14 years and as Second Deputy County Attorney for the past 3 years, will assume her new duties effective immediately.

Smith is Monroe County's first female county attorney.

Smith succeeds former County Attorney William K. Taylor, Esq., who was recently appointed Pittsford Town Justice and will remain with the County as a Deputy County Attorney.
