National Wear Red Day in Rochester
On Friday, wearing red is more than just a fashion statement -- it will also raise money for women suffering from heart disease.
The "National Wear Red Day" kicks off the American Heart Association's 10th anniversary of the Go Red for Women national heart campaign.
In addition to wearing red for women, lights in the atrium stairwell at City Hall and on the canopy at the Church Street entrance will also glow red for women.
Mayor Richards will speak at 10:30 in the atrium of City Hall and a local survivor will tell her story of living with heart disease.
The American Heart Association says heart diseases is the leading cause of death among women.
