Authorities say a father rescued his four young children from a fire that destroyed their home in the Town of Pavilion
The Genesee County Sheriff's office says 26-year-old Jessie Rosenbaum was on the second story of the house with the children when one of them went downstairs and found the building was on fire at about 10 a.m.
Deputies say Rosenbaum got each child out though a second-story window and dropped them safely to the ground from a roof before jumping out and injuring his back.
Fire officials say the cause of the fire was kerosene heater that had been knocked over.
Rosenbaum was treated at a hospital for his injury.
