Body of a woman found in Tryon Park

A woman's body was found in Tryon Park Wednesday afternoon. The park is located off of North Winton Road between Browncroft and Empire Boulevards.

Rochester Police say around 1:19pm Wednesday, a Monroe County Pure Water Division maintenance worker was doing a routine inspection of a tunnel line when he discovered the body of a woman by a ravine in the park. The area of the park is county property and is gated and locked.

Police are not sure how long the body has been there or how the person died. Police are treating this as a suspicious death at this time.
