Former Greece cop denied release from prison

A former Greece Police officer who was found guilty of coercion, accepting a bribe and official misconduct has been denied release from prison.

Gary Pignato was sentenced to prison in June 2009. His is currently serving a two to six-year sentence, making him eligible to earn two years of good-time credit.

Pignato’s next earliest release date is tentatively scheduled for June 5, 2013 – his conditional release date. A final decision will likely be rendered by mid-March.
