McQuaid names new football coach

McQuaid Jesuit has named Dan Bates as the new head coach of the varsity football team.

The school says Bates is familiar with the program having worked as an assistant coach for the past three seasons. Prior to joining McQuaid Jesuit, Bates spent 18 years an assistant coach with the Hilton varsity football team.

Bates takes over for his younger brother, Bobby Bates, who stepped down last month.
