A West Sparta man was sentenced Thursday for a crash that killed a man and injured three others last March.
Clayton R. Bennett, 20, of West Sparta, was sentenced to 1 to 3 years in state prison. He pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and DWI in court on January 31.
The crash happened on Frontage Road in North Dansville around 2:00 a.m. on March 3, 2012. When police got there, they found a Mitsubishi 3000 GT upside down with one person thrown from the car. That person was 22-year-old Joshua Stiggins, of Dansville. Stiggins was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other passengers were all 20-years-old and were treated at the hospital for injuries.
