Troopers: Gates woman stole prescription medication

State police say they arrested and charged a Gates woman with petit larceny, after she stole a bottle of medication from another person.

Investigators say Amanda Merrell, 23, stole the prescription medicine in December at a house in the Town of Attica. After investigating the incident, they issued a warrant for her arrest.

She was arrested on February 15 and sent to the Wyoming County Jail on $250 bail.

Merrell will return to the Attica Court at a later date to answer to the charges.
