There are some encouraging signs that childhood obesity could be on the decline.
A new report shows that in 2010, American children consumed fewer calories than children in the year 2000.
CDC researchers say calorie intake was decreased between four and seven-percent. They say it's mostly because kids are eating fewer carbohydrates.
The research is an encouraging sign but researchers say those numbers need to keep dropping to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic.
