Wegmans on East Avenue officially closes its doors

You won't be able to walk the aisles of the old East Avenue Wegmans ever again.
The store officially closed its doors for good at 6 p.m. On Saturday.
The building will be torn down and the area will become the parking lot for the new store being built right behind it. That store will open May 19.
More than 400 employees who work at the East Avenue Wegmans will work at other Wegmans locations during the transition.
