Vatican: Retired Pope Benedict XVI will be called "emeritus pope"

The Vatican says one symbol of the papacy, the red shoes worn by the pope, will be replaced by a favorite pair of hand-crafted brown loafers.

Officials also say Pope Benedict will be known in retirement as "emeritus pope," and continue to wear a white cassock.
