Rochester City School District Superintendent Dr. Bolgen Vargas presented a final draft of the district's Facilities Modernization Plan Thursday.
That's the proposal describing how district buildings are used, and how they can be improved.
Under this plan, 38 schools will be renovated over the next 11 years, If New York State comes through with the money requested. This draft recommends that four school buildings close, that's different from the superintendent's original recommendation of five.
The building most affected by this, is School 16, on Post Avenue which was slated to close but the new draft calls for it to be renovated. Students would be brought back in 2015.
Students who used to go there currently go to the Freddie Thomas campus on Scio Street.
