Law enforcement officers say a 25-year-old Rochester man is under arrest after he tried to swallow 26 bags of crack cocaine when he was pulled over by police.
The Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force says the arrest of Tyriek Johnson comes after a month-long investigation into the sale and distribution of crack cocaine in the Village of Albion.
On Thursday, the Task Force and officers from the Albion Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Ingersoll Street and arrested Johnson after he tried to swallow more than two dozen bags of crack cocaine.
The Task Force says it confiscated 26 bags of crack cocaine and more than $500 in cash.
Johnson is charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence. He was arraigned and remanded to the Orleans County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
Investigators say further charges and arrests are pending.
