After serving our country for months overseas, a local Marine is finally home just in time to spend St. Patrick's Day with his family and friends.

Family and friends welcomed Marine Corporal Matthew Ostrander home Saturday morning at the Greater Rochester International Airport.

Corporal Ostrander has been in Afghanistan since last July.

News10NBC asked him what he was most looking forward to now that he's home.

“Tonight. I'm going out for St. Patrick's Day. Just relaxing, seeing all my friends, family again. That's the most I'm looking forward to, just having some time to relax and have fun,” said Ostrander.

Corporal Ostrander comes from a military family. His younger brother, Mike, is also in the Marines. He is currently stationed in California. Their father was also a Marine.
