Medal of Honor Petition for local Civil War hero

The Rochester community is trying to preserve the memory of one of its Civil War heroes.
Before the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, the O'Rorke Memorial Society announced that it has begun a campaign to secure the Medal of Honor for Colonel Patrick O'Rorke, a Civil War soldier who died at the Battle of Gettysburg.
O'Rorke was born in Ireland but immigrated to Rochester as a child and attended school here.
