They're hard to avoid, especially this time of year, and they can cause serious damage to your car, leading to unwanted repair bills.
The Department of Transportation says it is getting more than a dozen calls for potholes every week.
One of the hot zones for pot holes in the county is on the inner loop on north side of downtown. The DOT admits it is a rough patch. Drivers say it is like a slalom course on that stretch of the loop from I-490 to the St. Paul exit. And the worst of the worst seems to be the part of the loop that runs over the river.
Good news is the inner loop is scheduled to be repaired and resurfaced this summer, but that still means people have to drive over it now.
There is a way to get these fixed, by the way. In the City of Rochester you can call 311 (outside City limits call (585) 428-5990).
You can also report pot holes on line. Click here for a link to the website.
If you're on a state highway, call 1-800-POTHOLE (1-800-768-4653). Click here to see why pot holes form.
