If you have a child in college do they know what to do to protect themselves from sexual assault?
That was the topic of a seminar at the University of Rochester on Wednesday.
News10NBC first told you about this event on Tuesday after a number of students spoke out about a professor's controversial blog post about rape.
The seminar was a series of lectures, workshops, and discussions about the impact of gender violence and sexual assault. News10NBC asked organizers what all students need to remember.
“It is their priveledge to know their personal space and when they're uncomfortable with a person intruding in their personal space. I also think young people need to respect the boundaries established by others,” said Morgan Levy, Equal Opportunity Compliance Director.
Organizers say they are also trying to reach out to younger students, including children as young as elementary school and teach them about protecting their bodies.
