A 24-hour vigil is underway on Capitol Hill, to make sure victims of violence are not forgotten.
Congresswoman Louise Slaughter joined lawmakers to read the names of recent victims, including the fallen firefighters of the Christmas Eve tragedy in Webster.
She also talked about Joseph Hofstetter and Ted Scardino, who were wounded in the attack and survived. Slaughter called on her fellow lawmakers to pass tougher national gun laws to prevent national gun laws.
