Rochester Police say a city man suffered serious injuries after he was shot Tuesday evening near Frost Avenue.

Officers say they received calls and a shotspotter activation for a shooting in the area of Frost and Jefferson Avenues after 9 p.m. Tuesday evening. When they arrived, police say they found evidence that a shooting had occurred but no victim was found.

A short time later, a 29-year-old male victim was found at Strong Memorial Hospital with a gun shot wound to his mid-torso. He was taken into surgery and officers tell News10NBC that his injuries are considered very serious.

Police say the shooting is still under investigation.
