Rochester's Hispanic community celebrated the groundbreaking for a new restaurant with city leaders Wednesday.

Zury Brown started out as a food vendor for the annual Puerto Rican Festival and outgrew a smaller takeout location. Soon she'll have a larger sit-down restaurant.

It's a success story that pleased city leaders who praised Brown. It's the first new construction on North Clinton Avenue in 12 years.

Zury Brown said, “To all, I thank you for listening, believing, supporting and encouraging me. I'll be grateful forever and I promise you I'll make you proud.”

The city is providing a $114,000 loan for the new restaurant. It's set to open in late summer.
