Thursday morning, a local Red Cross volunteer will head to Illinois to help with flooding.

Canandaigua resident Roger Kessler will fly out this afternoon from the Rochester airport. He will be supervising the distribution of supplies.

People in Illinois are still trying to clean up after one of the largest floods in the state's history. The governor enacted an emergency response and declared 44 counties disaster areas.

Kessler is the eighth volunteer to deploy from our area in the past two weeks.
