A challenge to the community to stand up to racism. The YWCA's new campaign kicked off Friday morning. Nearly 200 community organizations are taking part.
Organizers say ending racism needs to be a conscious effort. It isn't something you can leave to chance.
Jean Carroll, CEO, YWCA, said, "One of the things I've seen grow in the community is the understanding that race is an invented concept. It really was socially developed."
There are several ways you can take part with events like a dance performance at the Mall at Greece Ridge Center and a workshop on racial justice at the Downtown United Presbyterian Church. For more information, click here.
