It was a great day for ten members of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn presided over a ceremony Friday at MCC Theater in Brighton.

Nine members of the police bureau and one member of the jail bureau received promotions at the event. Of the promotions, the biggest moves at the ceremony were Captain Andrew Forsythe, who was promoted to chief deputy, Captain Lou Tomassetti becoming a major and Lieutenant David Phelps being bumped up to commander.
