The Rochester Broadway Theatre League wrapped up its season on Sunday with its final show, “Les Miserables” and officials say the season's impact on the Rochester economy was as strong as ever.
The Rochester Broadway Theatre League's President says this season's shows brought in more than $27.6 million dollars for the local economy. More than 122,000 people came out and attended this season's shows, which included “Wicked”, “Book of Mormon” and “Mary Poppins”.
Just last week, more than 20,000 people attended the eight performances of “Les Miserables” and officials say the show brought in more than $4.2 million for the Rochester economy.
RBTL’s 2013-2014 season kicks off in October and includes “Ghost”, “War House”, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, “Sister Act”, “Once” and “Phantom of the Opera.”
