A Clyde man who corralled four boys in a closet when he found them vandalizing a relative's home is due in court, where a prosecutor has asked a judge to drop criminal charges against him.

Wayne County District Attorney Richard Healy has asked the judge to dismiss the four endangering the welfare of a child counts against Jesse Daniels in the interest of justice.

Police charged the 53-year-old man this month after the parents of the boys, ages eight and 10, complained that he handled them roughly after finding them damaging his father-in-law's home.

Daniels says he took hammers away from the boys and put the four children in a closet until police arrived. He says the damage topped $40,000.
