Officials from the Red Cross are helping several people who live in an apartment building on the city's north side.

Firefighters say the building on Pullman Avenue has extensive water damage, but not because they were fighting a fire.

News10NBC is told the landlord didn't pay the water bill and the service was shut off. Officials say during that time someone removed several water pipes from the building.

According to fire officials when the water service was turned back on, the building flooded.

Sunday night the Red Cross is housing 13 adults and four children who live there.
