The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says a Newark man was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital after his motorcycle was hit by a car.
Deputies say this incident happened Saturday evening in Arcadia near the intersection of Route 88 and Fairville Maple Ridge Road. Investigators say 45-year-old David Murphy was traveling north on Route 88 when a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Tyler Hosmer pulled into the intersection, striking Murphy, who was ejected from his motorcycle.
Murphy was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. He is currently listed in guarded condition.
Hosmer and a passenger in his vehicle were both examined and released at the scene. Hosmer was ticketed with failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. Deputies say the investigation is still continuing.
