A strong storm system came through our area on Thursday afternoon knocking down trees and leaving damage.

Town crews and RG&E crews in Greece worked to clean up a number of trees that were knocked down. Many of those trees were on power lines. According to the Greece Fire Department, crews are no longer working in the area.

A neighborhood, known as the Fox Meadow Neighborhood, between Saddlehorn and Straub Road off of Long Pond Road saw a lot of damage. Because of it, parts of Saddlehorn and Straub Road were closed. At one point, more than 200 homes and businesses had no power, meaning no fans and air conditioners overnight. News10NBC is told that power is now restored to all RG&E customers and that the roads are now open.

If you live in Greece and have any concerns about downed trees in your area, you should call the town of Greece at 225-4590.
