There are some changes in Rochester when it comes to discrimination. This comes as Pride Weekend begins in Rochester.
At Friday's flag raising in Manhattan Square Park, Mayor Richards announced updates to the city's non-discrimination policy. It will now include protections for transgender individuals.
The city has also named a liaison to the LGBT community.
Mayor Richards says the policy is the city's legal obligation and commitment to foster a workplace free of discrimination regardless of age, sex, race, religion or sexual orientation.
