The man investigators say was involved in a shootout with Rochester Police last month has been moved from Strong Memorial Hospital to a jail cell.

Ralph Strong, 31, who was shot during the confrontation at the end of June, has been in the hospital since being shot. He has now been transferred to the Monroe County Jail.

Strong is facing murder charges in connection with a double homicide on Central Avenue last month. Police say they were pursuing Strong in that case when he led them on a car chase and eventually fired shots, injuring a Rochester Police sergeant.

No charges have been filed in connection with that shooting yet. Officials say they will probably be filed when the murder case is presented to a grand jury.
