RPD: Body found in Genesee River is missing teen from Rochester

The Rochester Police Department tells News10NBC that the body found Thursday in the Genesee River has been identified as 16-year-old Sterling Williams of Rochester. Investigators say Williams was reported missing Sunday. He was last seen that day in Genesee Valley Park.

On Thursday morning, police were called to the area of Elmwood Avenue and South Plymouth Avenue for a report of a body in the river. The Medical Examiner's office was able to identify the body, but no cause of death has been released yet. The RPD investigation continues and we will bring you updates as they become available.
