A 28-year-old Onondaga County resident was pronounced dead Friday evening after being partially ejected from a car in a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Seneca and one of the drivers faces a drug charge.

Leonard A. Fabian Jr., 28, of 330 Snowdale Drive, Baldwinsville, was a rear-seat passenger in a 2008 Pontiac Sedan driven by Andrew J. Clark, 25, of 3098 High St., Baldwinsville. According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Clark was driving south on County Road 20 and failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection with County Road 4. His vehicle was struck in the driver side by a 2011 Toyota driven west on County Road 4 by Phyllis Fritz, 66, of 4 Stonefield Place, Honeoye Falls.
Clark’s vehicle overturned and came to rest on its top, off the southern portion of the intersection.

Leonard Fabian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Clark and three other passengers, all from Baldwinsville, all were injured in the crash. Travis Woodward, 27, of 219 Blanchard Blvd., was flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Kevin Gabriel, 26, of 220 Blanchard Blvd., was flown to Strong by Lifenet Helicopter with back injuries. Clark was transported to Strong by Finger Lakes Ambulance for treatment of an arm injury. Tyler S. Sweeney, 25, of 43 Braeside Drive, was taken by Shortsville Ambulance to Strong with minor injuries.

Phyllis Fritz and her passenger, Ronald Fritz, 66, also of 4 Stonefield Place, Honeoye Falls, suffered minor injuries and were taken by Finger Lakes Ambulance to Strong.

Clark has been charged with driving while ability impaired (DWAI)-drugs, according to the sheriff’s office. He is to appear later in Seneca Town Court. The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be forthcoming, according to the sheriff’s office.

County Road 4 was closed between Seneca Castle and Hopewell for three hours while the accident was reconstructed. The Seneca Castle and Hopewell firefighters assisted at the scene.
