Funeral services are set this week for a veteran New York state trooper who suffered a heart attack while attending a law enforcement conference in Utah.

State police officials say viewing hours for Trooper William Keane will be held Wednesday and Thursday at the John J. Kaczor Funeral Home in Hamburg, just south of Buffalo. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Hamburg.

The 56-year-old Keane was attending a Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance conference in Salt Lake City when he died of a heart attack last Friday.

Keane spent his 26-year state police career in Troop A, which covers an eight-county region in western New York. He had been a member of the state police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit since 1995.
