There was a pretty serious water war in Rochester Friday. Students from McQuaid Jesuit High School and Generations at St. John's Child Care Center spent the day battling it out with some of the residents of St. John's Home in a Super Soaker fight.

Organizers say the event gives the elderly residents a chance to recapture the youthful fun of a summer day. It's something that, at the end of the day, both sides really enjoy.

Colby Harrimain, McQuaid Senior, said, "It's pretty fun. We always enjoy helping out the community, especially people at resident homes and just having some fun, getting them wet and vice versa, getting us wet."

Jeanne Scott, resident, said, "I wouldn't say it was one of my favorite moments because  people are having fun and enjoying it so I think it's a good little sport for the elderly."

This was the sixth year that the super soaking event has been held.
