State Police will be out in full force this weekend. Troopers are cracking down on drunk drivers throughout the weekend.

Labor Day is the last holiday weekend of the summer and police say initiatives like this are especially important when it comes to keeping all drivers safe.

Trooper Mark O'Donnell, NYS Police, said, "We arrest people every day for drinking and driving and every hour of every day. But because of the holidays, Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. Labor day being the last big weekend of the summer, you're going to see an increase number of people out, increased traffic. There are places that are going to be busier than they are on an ordinary weekend during the summer. We're stepping up our efforts to make sure people are safe on the roadways."

Trooper Mark O'Donnell says it's important to have a plan to get home safely before you head out the door and remember there's always a taxi service nearby.
