A 34-year-old Steuben County woman is charged with tampering with public records, a felony.
State Police tell News10NBC they arrested Melissa Olin of Cohocton following an investigation into missing money from the Steuben County Treasurers Office. Troopers say Olin intentionally make a false entry into the receipt book and attempted to conceal missing money.
Olin was arraigned and released. She is due back in court on September 11.
The investigation is ongoing and police say additional arrests are pending. Olin has since been placed on administrative leave.
