Kids at the Golisano Children's Hospital got quite the surprise Monday. They got a visit from a real life circus clown.
Alex Barney is a clown from the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. He made a stop at the hospital in anticipation of the circus's "Dragons" show coming to Rochester.
Alex Barney, Barnum and Bailey Circus, said, "When you're performing in the circus, there's thousands of people there, and of course, you try to connect with everybody, but you just simply can't connect with every single person. But when you come into an environment like this, you actually get a chance to actually learn the kids names and learn their personality. To me, this is way is more rewarding than performing in the show."
"Dragons" plays tribute to the Chinese year of the dragon. It will be in town from October 30 through November 3 at the Blue Cross Arena. For tickets, go to www.ticketmaster.com or visit the Blue Cross Arena Box Office.
