It's a major improvement aimed at keeping city kids healthy. A new health center celebrated its grand opening Tuesday afternoon.

The center is located at the Frederick Douglass Campus on Fernwood Park. It's all thanks to a partnership between the Rochester City School District and the University of Rochester. The health center will provide care for things like asthma, minor injuries and will also offer health screenings. Dental and vision services are expected to be added in the future.

Funding for the center came from a federal grant, along with more than $530,000 dollars raised by the city school district.
