The facility has been around since 1990 and company officials say the upgrades will help them to better serve the next generation of residents. The project involved building a new 40 apartment assisted living community, a 20 apartment memory care community and redeveloping the common space between the different communities.
Don Felter, Unity Senior Housing President, said, "We certainly have a number of our residents that use the services over at the hospital, we have the emergency room right on campus, our doctors. We do several different wellness programs for residents. Doctors make house calls here for our residents too so it is very convenient for them."
The $22 million expansion also included renovations outside, green space like gardens, along with bocce and shuffleboard courts. Residents also have a brand new outdoor dining area.
