Created: 09/17/2013 3:11 AM WHEC.com

Doctors and health advocates will share information about ovarian cancer, including risk factors and symptoms.

The event starts at 10:30 a.m. at Senator Ted O'Brien's office at 2494 Browncroft Boulevard in Penfield. Members from the Western New York Ovarian Cancer Project and Made the Same Inc., along with medical experts will speak.

Ovarian cancer will affect one in 70 women in their lives. It is highly treatable when detected early. Health officials say right now there is no reliable screening.

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. For a list of resources about the disease click here.
