Do you have a Yellow Dot sticker on your car?

Can you imagine being in a serious crash and not being able to speak and give the emergency responders your medical information? A new program called the "Yellow Dot Program" can help first responders in that situation know how to care for you.

The kit is simple -- just two pieces. The first part is a sticker that you place on the back driver's side window of your car. This lets first responders know that a piece of paper is in your glove box. The paper asks for a photo so responders can identify you. It lists your doctors and medicines you are taking and the dose and allergies you have. It also has a spot for emergency contacts.

Today, Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn and state Assemblyman Bill Reilich will host an informational session to answer your questions about the program at 10 a.m. at the Greece Community and Senior Center.

You can pick up a free Yellow DOt kit at any Monroe County DMV or at any sheriff’s substation. You can also have one mailed to you. To sign-up, click here.
