The Dean of the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester announced Wednesday that he will step down at the end of June.

Mark Zupan will end his tenure on June 30, 2014. He has served as dean for 10 years.

He plans to take a year sabbatical and then will become the John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics and Public Policy and director of the Bradley Policy Research Center at Simon.

University of Rochester President Joel Seligman released a statement saying, “Mark's legacy is an inspiring one. I personally appreciate the hard work, discipline, and tough decisions involved in being as successful a dean as Mark has been, particularly during challenging economic times.  More than anything else, Mark deserves our gratitude for a job well done.”

Seligman will chair the search committee for Zupan's replacement.
