Local high school students are partnering up with NASA.
Students at Fairport High School will have the chance to design and build an item to be used during a NASA flight next year. It's all part of the NASA "Hunch" program. Officials say the program is a win-win for both sides. NASA receives cost-effective hardware, made by students and the students get hands-on experience and in some cases, NASA certification.
The students will start off by researching the project this fall, building early next year and having it ready for that flight in April of next year.
Fairport is the only school in New York to participate in this program.
