News10NBC has learned that two Rochester Police officers were injured in a crash Monday afternoon. Police say they were responding to the shots fired call near the Liberty Pole.
Police say two of their officers were going the wrong way down Campbell Street near Grape Street, with their emergency lights on, when they collided with a car traveling south on Grape Street. The impact caused the patrol car to hit a one-way sign and a telephone pole. Both officers were transported to Strong Hospital with neck, back and knee pain.
The three young people in the car were transported to Strong Hospital with minor injuries. Police say the driver had a suspended permit and was issued a ticket for aggravated unlicensed operation.
