A former Finger Lakes Community College employee is facing charges after sheriff's deputies say she changed students' transcripts for 13 years.

Nancy H. Purdy,55, of Farmington, is charged with official misconduct and falsifying business records.

Sheriff's Deputies say between February 10, 2000 to February 28, 2013, she changed grades and added courses to several FLCC students' transcripts without authorization. Sheriff's deputies say, during that time, she was employed by FLCC as the Assistant Vice President of Academic Initiatives.

Purdy was issued an appearance ticket to reappear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date.

"Last spring, a concern arose about possible irregularities in certain student records.  We addressed the issue immediately by inviting a SUNY auditing team to review our academic records.  When the audit was complete, the college turned over the team's finding to the authorities.  Given the importance of integrity in student records - and it is extremely important to us - we have reviewed all college records policies and procedures and we are very confident that this was an isolated incident."
