More than 100 area National Guard soldiers left for training Friday morning. Right now, the soldiers are headed to Fort Hood, Texas for training.

We were there to see the soldiers hop off the bus and get on a plane.

Sergeant Major Mark Wilson of the 642nd Aviation Support Battalion said, “Their heads are not always going to be in the game. They still have a life back here that you are a part of. Obviously they’re directly related but they are my soldiers so they are a part of us, part of the battalion, part of a mission as a whole.”

After they finish their training, the soldiers will be deployed to Kuwait.
