It's an organization that's making a major difference in the lives of area children.
Saturday night people came together to support the Pirate Toy Fund.
The annual Buccaneers' Ball was held at the Doubletree Hotel on Jefferson Road. The casino-themed evening featured gambling for prizes, delicious food and live music.
All of the money raised goes towards purchasing toys for children in need.
“The need is growing. More and more kids are without toys, without that thing in their life and we really feel that brings a sense of normalcy to them. We've expanded our Toys on Patrol program, which is now working with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the kids whose parents might be incarcerated. So it keeps expanding. It keeps getting bigger and better. We're loving it right now. We're having fun,” said Gary the Happy Pirate.
You can donate year-round or at the News10NBC Pirate Toy Fund Drive this year. It's the first week in December at all area malls.
