People had the chance to learn more about animal cruelty investigations at a special forum Monday night.

Lollypop farm hosted an informational session at their Training and Education Center in Fairport.

Alice Calabrese, President and CEO of Lollypop Farm, says several recent cases have generated questions from the community about animal cruelty investigations, including everything from the process to Lollypop Farm's role and authority.

One woman who works with animals told News10NBC what the public can learn from sessions like this.

“We need more awareness of this whole situation and we need people to learn how to address the situations correctly and not hinder investigations and learn how to do it property,” said Trudy Salmon, K9 Partners of Monroe County.

In addition to Lollypop Farm leaders, Humane Society of Rochester officers and a prosecutor from the Monroe County District Attorney's office were on hand to answer questions.
